New Prey Patch Focuses on PS4 Pro Support, Bug Fixes

Arkane’s Prey launched earlier this month to mostly positive reviews, albeit there were some outlets that gave it an average score. Either way, the game is generally considered to be worth your time, even though there is always room for some improvements. Speaking of which, a number of improvements happened to come out just recently via Patch 1.04, which went live yesterday.  The new patch is currently only available on PS4 and brings to the table a number of much-needed bug fixes for the game. The main highlights of Prey Patch 1.04, however, are the PS4 Pro enhancements. These improvements should have been available at launch, but I guess it’s better late than never. Here’s what you can expect in terms of PS4 Pro enhancements:

  • Enable Screen-Space Reflections
  • Higher quality shadows
  • Improved texture appearance
  • More texture memory (stable streaming)
  • Anisotropy 16x (from 4x)
  • Improved visual fidelity
  • Less LOD usage
  • Dynamic lights show up further
  • Particles are allowed to draw more pixels per effect

For the full list of patch notes make sure to check out Bethesda’s official announcement on Reddit. Patch 1.04 is expected to launch on the PC and Xbox One versions of Prey sometime later this week.
