Wanna try Hitman (2016) but don’t have the money to spare right now? You’re in luck if that’s the case because the folks over at IO Interactive have announced that the game’s prologue chapter will be available for free starting later today. Even better, you can choose to play it either on PC, PS4, or Xbox One. Hitman is comprised of six episodes along with a prologue chapter, so you would only be getting a small taste of what the game has to offer by trying this demo. Then again, it’s free so why not? You can always get the rest of the game later.
Unlike some other demos you may have seen floating around, the prologue chapter of Hitman will not limit your experience in any way. According to the developers, the first location known as the ICA Facility will be available to play in its entirety, meaning you can take part in the activities and gain some achievements/trophies in the process. We’re looking at two story missions, two Escalation Contracts, 40+ challenges, as well as a plethora of player-created missions in Contract Mode. Not bad as far as demos go.
“I’m proud to announce that our first hello as an independent studio is to invite all gamers to play the beginning of Hitman for free,” said Hakan Abrak, CEO at IO Interactive. “There is a lot of love out there for HITMAN and with this offering we hope that many more will fall in love with the game. We believe that this is Hitman at its best. So jump in and give a try.”
If you like what you’re seeing in the prologue and want to buy the full game afterwards make sure to keep an eye out for upcoming discounts because IO Interactive says that Hitman will soon be available at up to 60% off on some platforms.
