Although the team behind the project announced their bitcoin blockchain fork is set for Sunday, November 12th, bitcoin gold launched earlier today.

The client for the newest member of the ever-growing list of digital currencies can be downloaded from the bitcoin gold’s site, or from GitHub; the choice is on you. After bitcoin cash, bitcoin gold is the second fork of the bitcoin blockchain, and if you owned bitcoin tokens at the time the split happened, you would get some gold, bitcoin gold.

Starting today, everyone can start mining the new digital currency, with the current price being around $270.

The team behind the currency issued a statement on the official site regarding the delay in which they stated that “Bitcoin Gold is now Live, having survived a massive and concerted attack from its first moment of existence. Big events attract big attenion, but it’s sometimes the unwanted kind! A massive attack was made in an apparent effort to disrupt the mainnet launch, but the Bitcoin Gold team managed to get the network up and running… albeit a little later than planned.”

I love to talk tech, gaming, and cryptocurrency! I have been gaming since I was 5 (27 now), and I am an avid technology geek. Technology is changing the world and is the fastest growing sector; not to mention most interesting! I'm a big advocate of cryptocurrency as it is disrupting the monopolies and centralization of the world!
