Origin Access finally adds Mass Effect to its lineup

In Gaming, News by Xardas0 Comments

EA has finally come to its senses regarding the Origin Access program and will soon add the Mass Effect Trilogy to the Vault. Not only that but the company announced that five other games will also be added to the lineup, including Trine, Trine 2, Dungeons of Dredmor, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, and Peggle. While we don’t have an exact launch schedule for all these games, EA did say that we can expect the eight titles to be released throughout May and June. My guess is that the ME Trilogy will be launched just ahead of the EA Play event on June 12 in order to get us even more hyped for Mass Effect Andromeda.

Earlier this year we spoke at length about Origin Access and how feasible the program was at launch. While we were on the fence before, it’s starting to look like this could end up being a worthwhile investment in the long run, especially with the addition of the Mass Effect Trilogy. Aside from the eight games mentioned above, the Origin Access Vault already features 21 other titles, including the Dragon Age and Dead Space series, Battlefield 4, Torchlight 2, and Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare. Other recent additions come in the form of Titanfall, The Banner Saga, and FIFA 16.

Becoming an Origin Access member has a couple of other perks as well, such as 10% discount on all Origin games and early access to various trials. EA confirmed yesterday that the next available trial will be for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, which was unfortunately delayed until June 7th not too long ago. We don’t know when the trial will become available, but it should kick in at least a couple of days ahead of the game’s launch if we were to make a guess. If you want to see if you can run Mirror’s Edge Catalyst we have the minimum and recommended specs for you right here.

Becoming an Origin Access member costs $5 a month and gives full access to its Vault of games for as long as you maintain your subscription. If you decide to cancel your subscription for whatever reason don’t worry because all the games will be waiting for you in your library if you change your mind and want to become a member again at some point.
