Nioh is one of the most highly anticipated PS4 exclusives of early 2017, and with good reason. The game looks very promising and features a combat system that’s often said to be similar to that of Dark Souls. Unlike the Souls series, however, the upcoming title takes place in feudal Japan which, it turns out, is a great setting for an action RPG like this. Don’t take my word for it, though, and judge for yourself as Sony and Team Ninja just announced that all PS4 players are invited to take part in Nioh’s final Beta test this weekend.
The Beta test is suitably entitled The Last Chance Trial and will take place between January 21-22. The trial will be available to pre-load starting today from the PS Store and is said to be an expanded version of what was showcased last year at the PlayStation Experience. The developer also revealed that Beta testers can expect a number of rewards that will be available in the final version of Nioh. That is, of course, if players manage to overcome the difficult challenges and complete all available missions.
Specifically, beating the game’s Main Mission will grant you the Ogress Headgear while completing the Twilight Mission grants two masks known as Mark of the Conqueror and Mark of the Strong. These two items will also be available to those who took part in last year’s Beta and Alpha tests. Make sure to get them now if you missed the previous tests because this will be your last chance. Also worth mentioning is that players will need to keep their save data from the Beta in order to access the rewards when Nioh launches next month so whatever you do don’t delete your saves.
Nioh is scheduled to launch on February 7 exclusively for the PS4.
