Note: Deal expires later tonight on December 27, 2016.
If you’re loaded with Christmas money and thinking about plunking some down on a new VR headset the Microsoft Store is going to really going to make the case for the HTC Vive system over the Oculus Rift with a dynamite Deal: $100 off and a $100 bonus. This is the best HTC Vive deal to date matching what they offered on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but not seen since.
Normally the HTC Vive runs $799, which is $200 more than the $599 Oculus Rift VR Heaset. The difference is of course that the HTC Vive extends the VR experience beyond just a stationary sit-and-play headset like the Oculus offers, and allows you to wander an entire room if you so choose.
Now with only a $100 price difference, do you thrown down the cash for the Vive? That’s the question you’ll need to answer. Both systems come with the $100 Gift Card bonus to the Microsoft Store, which is good on anything they sell like games, laptops, tablets, software, ect.
Both systems also come with free games each in the box. The Oculus Rift gets you a copy of Lucky’s Tale. The Vive contains 2 free games: The Gallery – Episode 1: Call of the Starseed and Zombie Training Simulator.
