Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 is not only a mouthful of a name but also the latest installment in the long-running fighting series. While not as popular as Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter or the recently released Injustice 2, the series is definitely worth looking into if you’re a fan of the genre. The game is set to launch later this month and is more like an update to Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator than a new title. However, those interested will still need to purchase it separately or buy the REV 2 DLC if they already own the base game. If that sounds a bit confusing don’t worry because you can play Rev 2 for free for a while and judge for yourself if it’s worth buying/upgrading.
Starting today, PS Plus subscribers can download the free demo for Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 via the PlayStation TM Network. The demo gives players access to the game’s full roster of characters, as well as a number of different game modes. These include the Tutorial mode and Training mode, which are pretty much exactly what you’d expect. Then, there’s also Versus, a mode that allows you to go head to head against a friend or the CPU in local battles. An online mode doesn’t seem to be available, but then again, this is just the demo version.
Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 is scheduled to launch on May 25 on PS3 and PS4, as well as PC via Steam.
