Ubisoft has been celebrating its 30th birthday by giving away free games for the past several months. As we approach the end of 2016 it looks like the celebrations are almost over, though not before the company gifts its fans with one last free game in the form of Assassin’s Creed 3. Starting today, anyone with a Ubisoft Club account can go ahead and claim their free copy of Assassin’s Creed 3, a promotion that will last approximately one full month or so. Coincidentally, AC 3 is also today’s mystery gift featured on Ubisoft’s 30 days of giveaways calendar.
If you’re looking to grab a copy of Assassin’s Creed 3 your first order of business will be to visit the Ubisoft Club website and sign up for a free account. If you already have an account even better because you can simply start downloading the game right now. It’s worth noting that once you claimed your copy of the game it’s yours to keep forever, so it’s probably a good idea to grab it now even if you don’t plan on playing it in the near future. The only caveat of this whole deal is that you will only be able to play Assassin’s Creed 3 via Uplay, which isn’t exactly the best client out there, but hey, a free game is a free game, right?
As of this writing, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon (last month’s free game) still seems to be available to download but this will probably not last for much longer so I suggest you hurry if you don’t have the game already. On the other hand, if you completely missed out on the Ubi30 free games this is your last chance because Assassin’s Creed 3 will be the last freebie as part of this offer. Having said that, some of the previously available games like The Crew, Prince of Persia, and Rayman Legends will be free again later this month as part of the 30 days of giveaways, so keep an eye on the aforementioned calendar.
According to the calendar’s source code, Prince of Persia should be free on December 15 followed by Rayman Legends, Splinter Cell, and The Crew on December 16, 17, and 18, respectively. In addition, on December 9 the calendar mentions something called 300 game giveaway, which comes with a description that reads “300 copies of three of our latest titles (one game per person, first-come first-served.”
