4X strategy game Endless Space 2 is currently preparing to begin its Steam Early Access phase according to Amplitude Studios. The developer revealed earlier today that its upcoming space TBS will be ready to put players into the pilot seat starting with October 6th. Amplitude Studios also says that four of the eight factions will be playable during Early Access, complete with a large portion of their storylines. In addition, it sounds like most of Endless Space 2’s massive universe will also be ready to explore and conquer, though Amplitude is likely saving a few surprises for the full release.
The original Endless Space came out in 2012 and was fairly well received by fans of the genre. Now Amplitude is planning to build upon the success of the original game and promises an even more immersive and memorable experience. The Early Access phase of Endless Space 2 was initially meant to come out this month before being pushed back until October 6th. According to the developers, the delay was not caused by technical difficulties but rather by a desire to polish up the game a bit more based on pre-Alpha feedback.
“We did our best to hold the September release we had in mind and that we announced at Gamescom. However, this turned out a bit difficult in the end. With the feedback we’ve collected from our VIPs who played the pre-alpha version of the game, we knew we had a fun game in our hands but it still needed some adjustments which we’ve worked on these past few weeks.”
