Civilization 6 already features a wide range of interesting civs, but I don’t think anyone would be upset if Firaxis decided to add some more, right? As it happens, that’s exactly what the developers are planning, as the company revealed Australia earlier today. No, not the actual Australia, we already knew about that. Rather, the next playable civilization that will be made available later this year. Australia will be led by John Curtin in Civilization 6 and its playstyle revolves around settling coastal cities and gaining an early game advantage thanks to its unique unit, the Digger.
Civilization 6 fans will have to wait a few more months before they will be able to play as Australia, but don’t worry because Firaxis has announced an additional update that will keep you busy until then. According to the devs, the update will launch “soon” and will be available for free to everybody who owns Civilization 6 on Steam. As for what it contains, players can expect Steam Workshop integration and modding tools along with multiplayer teams functionality. In addition, the free update also introduces some much-needed bug fixes and balance changes to the game. Specific details regarding these changes have yet to be announced.
The upcoming premium DLC pack featuring Australia is expected to launch sometime this Summer for PC.
